Cottiers Theatre

Conservation

Dowanhill Church was built in 1865 by the architect William Leiper (1839-1916) with interiors and stained glass by Daniel Cottier (1838-1891). For a number of years the church has operated as a theatre, restaurant and a bar in Glasgow's West End. An extensive repair programme has been carried out, adding a new ‘undercroft' that provides much needed facilities. During this restoration process all the fabric and decoration were restored to their former splendour.
